1878 17 Jan Criminal Trials - Dimsdale, Fred., and others for forgery page 11 col.C.

Frederick was indicted with Mr Charles Burrell Moor, formerly an official in the Civil Service for forgery of a deed of lease which was used to obtain loans from a long list of people, building societies, assurance and other corporations totalling �300,000. Frederick's son Clarence, who was articled to his father, was named and a Harriet Meredith, who came from Clifton near Bristol. Frederick had been admitted into the legal profession in 1846, he had offices in the City, latterly in Lombard Street, residing in Curzon Street, Mayfair. Harriet Meredith had been a parlour maid in a house in Croydon and Frederick was said to have enjoyed an illicit relationship with her. Sentencing was postponed.

Fredrick was an inmate of Carisbrooke Prison, Isle of Wight, Hampshire, England in 1881
